Fresh, exciting and local are all words that have been used to describe our food; which is served in a relaxed, friendly and informal style.
We were delighted to be nominated by our customers for a UKTV Food heroes every year since we were fortunate enough to take over one of the finest hotels and restaurants in Alston.
Lighter bites and delicious homemade cakes and scones are served in the house café, which is an ideal place to chill and take in the stunning views.
Our typical menu is shown below, however please note that as we only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients on rare occasions some menu items may need to be substiuted, so if you are travelling to dine with us, please call first to check on availability on 01434 382200.
Good Food takes time and our chefs create most dishes for you from scratch, so please allow a reasonable amount of time for your meal to be prepared. If you have time constraints, then please let us know when you order and we will do our utmost to accommodate you.
Local sourcing: We work closely with local producers, farmers and fishermen to buy food which is fresh, of the highest quality and low in food miles. We always try to use as much Cumbrian produce as possible.
Sustainable fishing: We support the sustainable fisheries programme and endeavour not to use species which are threatened or have depleted stocks.
Allergies: If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know.
If there is something special that you would like to order and we do not have it on the menu we are happy to prepare these items. We generally require 24 hours notice to be able to source and carefully prepare your favourite dish.
