Welcome to Alston House
Our fabulous restaurant, bar and cafe with rooms located in the North Pennines in Cumbria
The warm colours and comfortable furnishings of the bar and restaurant with its open fire set the tone for your visit, whilst also allowing the opportunity to sample some of our fine, local real ales or our carefully selected range of wines before, or after dinner.
We offer a choice of eight bedrooms including single, double, twin and family bedrooms. All of the rooms have been refurbished and include luxury bathrooms, some with deep roll top baths for the ultimate in relaxation after a day on the fells. All rooms have new flat screen TV’s, free WiFi, a copious supply of teas, freshly ground coffee and cafetieres for the perfect cup of coffee. We also know how important a good nights sleep is and so we have replaced all of our beds to ensure you get the perfect nights sleep.
Our kitchen is open from breakfast to dinner where chef/owner Mike Allchorne produces delicious, seasonal dishes using fresh local produce. In fact by dining at Alston House Hotel you are supporting over 20 local food producers. Our main menu offers traditional favourites like steaks, fish and vegetarian dishes, while our Pizza and Pasta menu offers a delicious alternative.
The bar restaurant is the perfect place for residents and locals to meet, enjoy a meal, or simply raise a glass or two. We offer a selection of locally brewed ales along with other favourites such as Peroni, and Becks Beers, wines, champagnes and of course Prosecco by the glass or bottle.
All of our rooms have been refurbished and include luxury bathrooms, some with deep roll top baths for the ultimate in relaxation after a day on the fells, (we can even supply champagne and chocolates in the room on arrival to help with that unwinding process!) others have large corner showers and a selection of SPA toiletries, hair driers and deep fluffy towels.
Lighter bites and delicious homemade cakes and scones are served in the house cafe, which is an ideal place to chill and take in the stunning views.
